Dr Lockie's journey began in Belfast, Northern Ireland, where he underwent his surgical training. Dr Lockie went on to complete an oesophageal Fellowship at the Royal Victoria Hospital in Belfast. He won the Intensive Care Society Traveling Fellowship which took him to Denver, Memphis and Seattle prior to venturing to Australia in 2003. In Australia, Dr Lockie further honed his skills through various fellowships, including a year as the Upper GI fellow at the Royal North Shore Hospital in Sydney and an additional Laparoscopic Fellowship year in Canberra.
It was during this time that he demonstrated his exceptional skills and knowledge, earning the prestigious Associations of Surgeons of Great Britain and Ireland Gold Medal in 2004 at the Intercollegiate examination in General Surgery.
These experiences allowed him to develop expertise in Laparoscopic Incisional Hernia Repair and Laparoscopic Inguinal Hernia Repair. Dr Lockie's training as a robotic specialist has enabled him to handle complex bariatric and hernia cases with precision and efficiency.
